Can you believe this is the 3rd season of the Boys Can Wear Pink too tour put on by Handmade Boy? I love being a part of this because it helps break the stigma of gender based clothing or colors.
My son is now 13 so it is getting a little harder to get him on board, but we found the best flamingo fabric from LaFinch Fabrics who was kind enough to send it to me for the purpose of the tour. It ended up being very lightweight and all my needles were too big for it which caused me all sorts of trouble sewing the henley. But it is far from perfect, but still very wearable. In fact the thin fabric should be perfect for or triple digit weather we get.
The joggers he loves to wear all the time are his favorite pattern, Moto Maxx with some pink stitching for the knee patch part. This French terry is so soft and cozy & there is just enough left for me. The only changes we made was to add inseam pockets and a drawstring waist.
The outfit is a win and since he is into football now, he said he will wear it a lot in October. So I am happy that he still looks at pink as a color or importance rather than yuck lol.
