As a mother of 5, I despise housework. I hate dishes. I hate vacuuming. I hate cleaning the bathroom. I hate laundry. Do you know what laundry is like for 7 people? Horrendous! So when someone decided to put together this brilliant tour, I said f*ck yeah! No more laundry! No more laundry! Ok, so probably not going to work, but sewing as opposed to cleaning? Oh yeahhhhhh!
I chose a some trusty go to patterns I practically know by heart: Rose Skirt from Filles a Maman and City Girl (Swing Top bonus) from Lil Luxe Collection. I can make both items in an hour cut to finish, but thought newbies to these staples could make it in 1 1/2 hours to 2 tops! How do you like them apples?
Now comes the fun! I got a bunch of fabric free when I bought my newest sewing machine. It has a bunch of fun, crazy 70s polyester. I know I should just say no since that stuff doesn’t breath at all, but look at that skirt! Would you turn down that beauty? Poly or not.
My Rose skirt took about 20 minutes to sew. Easy as pie. And it is the perfect skirt for this funky fabric.
The swing top (to be pictured later) was made with neon pink organza and satin. How much more Barbie can we get? This shirt took about 35 minutes. Those burrito rolls can be kind of ruthless. I added this fuschia stretch elastic for a fun twist and voila! Perfect outfit for summer (and to get out of laundry.)
Now don’t forget. A tour means loads of fun like more people, prizes, more people, sew envy, more people. Ok ok! Really though, check out the other talent AND enter the rafflecopter. Thanks for stopping by.
