As I keep sewing items this month, I find it very important to make the items that work for me already. One of my favorite patterns is the Cali Faye Basics Tank. It goes together fast, no darts, arms and neck are bound with bias and a curved hemline that is longer in the back. From cut to sew, it takes about 45 minutes to complete and is a great year round item for business, casual, etc. I made the size L with an added 2 in to the hip width so it had enough ease there for me. I used a lawn fabric for a thin and breathable shirt. I need that for desert summers.
I chose a print that was monochromatic, bright and dark, but floral. I think these elements help keep things light, while still feeling like me. The great thing for me is I can use this print year round. Tank with skirts, shorts, pants for hot months. Then layers and scarves to pair it with when it cools off.
Nothing quite like an item you know you will wear over and over.
