Swimwear sewing has become sort of an obsession. Imagine if you stumbled across all these amazing swim fabrics and swimsuit patterns. You would quickly become obsessed too.
Just last year, I was terrified of swimsuit sewing. Spandex, lycra, elastic. No way!! Once I made one, I was hooked for life, yo! Seriously it is so damn fun!
That’s 17 patterns + $30 in fabric!!
So today I had the privilege of making Designs by Call Ajaire (DBCA) Classic Maillot. True to her fashion, there are so many options to choose from. I chose the Maillot in View D front with View B back. I decided a simple detailed 1 piece for the best for my (almost annoyingly-jk) modest Goldie. I had this gold foil dancewear fabric and had to make a swimsuit fit for Old Hollywood royalty. The gathers added that old glam look and the open back was the perfect sleek touch. My girls is super skinny and all over the place. Size 6 length, size 3 chest, size 18m waist, size 4 hips. I used all those and graded away. The only thing off was it was a tad too long. Otherwise, perfect!!! I will definitely be making this pattern again and again and again. And it is also perfect for dancewear and leotards. How do you like that?
